About the Brother
Bro. Lloyd Moore received his commission on February 1, 2007. He was formally installed on February 16, 2007 by a team led by the Grand Master Mason, Sir Archibald Donald Orr Ewing 6th Bart., M.A, Grand Secretary David M. Begg and Grand Director of Ceremonies W. Ramsay McGhee.
Right Worshipful District Grand Master's Masonic Career
Bro. Moore was initiated in Lodge St. John No. 623 (SC) on March 24th, 1980 and installed as Right Worshipful Master thereof in February, 1990. Nine months after leaving the chair of Lodge St. John in February 1991, he was appointed Honorary District Junior Grand Deacon in November 1991.
He was elected and served as:
- Assistant District Grand Director of Ceremonies in November 1994-1996
- District Grand Jeweller in November 1996-1997
- District Grand Architect in November 1997-1998
He was appointed Substitute District Grand Master for the period November 2002 to October 2004
He was conferred with:
- Honorary District Junior Grand Deacon in November 1991
- Honorary District Junior Grand Warden in 1998
- Honorary Grand Bible Bearer in November 2003
- Honorary Junior Grand Warden in November 2006
Bro. Moore is a founder member of Lodges Jackson McLaren Wint No. 1818 S.C. and Stony Hill No. 1820 S.C.
English Freemasonry
In the English Constitution he is a Founder and Past Master of the Francis Haddon Bowen Lodge No. 9238 (EC). He is also a Past District Senior Grand Warden of the District Grand Lodge of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
Irish Freemasonry
In the Irish constitution he is also a Founder and Past Master of the True Craftsman Lodge No. 921 (IC), a Founder of Erin Lodge No. 932 (IC), and Past Provincial Junior Grand Deacon of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Jamaica & the Bahamas (IC).
Jamaican Craft Freemasonry
Bro. Lloyd is one of seven Jamaican Masons who has served as Master in The Scottish, English & Irish Constitutions. He holds honorary membership in many Lodges under the Scottish and English constitutions.
Royal Arch
In the Royal Arch, he is a Past 1st Principal of the St. John Royal Arch Chapter and a Founder of the Allan Marsh Royal Arch Chapter No. 889. He is also an Honorary Depute Grand Superintendent of the District Grand Chapter of Jamaica.
District Grand Master
The Grand Master Mason appointed Bro. Lloyd R. Moore as Right Worshipful District Grand Master of the District Grand Lodge of Jamaica on February 1st, 2007, and issued his commission effective February 1st, 2007. His commission lasts for five years.

Brethren when the history of Jamaican Freemasonry for this era is written it will record that in June 2008 the largest deputation on record consisting of twenty eight Freemasons accompanied by fifteen wives, set off from Jamaica to visit the Grand Lodge of Scotland. Read more »
